Senior Platform Automation Engineer

Location: 100% remote work (Poland)
Availability: ASAP / within 1 month

Position Summary:

We are seeking highly experienced, hands-on Senior Specialists to join a strategic Cloud Platform Engineering initiative focused on building scalable Infrastructure-as-Code platforms, AI-assisted engineering workflows, and next-generation CI/CD deployment pipelines.
This is not a security specialist role. The primary objective is to establish a modern, enterprise-grade deployment platform capable of integrating Policy-as-Code controls such as Open Policy Agent (OPA) while enabling self-service cloud delivery and engineering automation.
The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in Terraform, CI/CD pipeline engineering, platform automation, GitHub and Azure DevOps ecosystems, and AI-assisted software delivery practices.

Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and operationalize enterprise-scale CI/CD pipelines across cloud environments

• Develop reusable Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks and Terraform module libraries

• Create scalable deployment patterns supporting self-service cloud provisioning

• Design deployment workflows capable of integrating Policy-as-Code validation frameworks such as Open Policy Agent (OPA)

• Implement automated pipeline validation, testing, and governance controls

• Build GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps pipeline templates, accelerators, and reusable components

• Develop AI-assisted engineering workflows that improve developer productivity and reduce operational overhead

• Partner with Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, DevOps, and Architecture teams to standardize deployment practices

• Contribute to enterprise cloud platform modernization initiatives

• Improve developer experience through automation, reusable patterns, and platform self-service capabilities

• Create engineering standards, technical documentation, reference architectures, and implementation guidance

Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Automation, or related disciplines

• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing large-scale CI/CD platforms

Advanced knowledge of:

• Terraform

• Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• GitHub Enterprise

• GitHub Actions

• Azure DevOps

• CI/CD pipeline architecture

Strong experience building:

• Terraform module libraries

• Reusable deployment frameworks

• Self-service platform capabilities

Experience with:

• Azure

• Cloud-native deployment patterns

• Multi-environment delivery pipelines

Strong scripting and automation skills using:

• PowerShell

• Python

• Bash

Experience integrating policy validation frameworks such as:

• Open Policy Agent (OPA)

• Policy testing and validation tooling

Strong understanding of software delivery lifecycle automation


Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience implementing AI-assisted development workflows

• Experience leveraging AI tools within software engineering and platform operations

• Experience building Internal Developer Platforms (IDP)

• Experience developing cloud landing zones and platform foundations

• Experience with Kubernetes and container platforms

• Experience building engineering self-service capabilities

• Familiarity with platform governance and deployment controls

• Multi-cloud experience (Azure preferred, AWS/GCP beneficial)

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Senior platform engineer who can contribute immediately with minimal onboarding

• Strong Terraform practitioner with extensive real-world implementation experience

• Expert in CI/CD architecture and automation

• Comfortable building deployment frameworks that support Policy-as-Code enforcement without being primarily focused on security governance

• Strong understanding of GitHub, Azure DevOps, automation, and platform engineering principles

• Practical, hands-on engineer capable of delivering reusable solutions rather than one-off implementations

• Able to work independently and drive complex technical initiatives across multiple teams

• Interested in applying AI to improve engineering productivity, automation, and delivery efficiency
