For our client we are looking for a person for the position of Systems Operations Manager (M/K).

Role purpose:

The Systems Operations Manager leads the reliable, secure and cost-effective operation of the organisation’s enterprise server and compute platforms. The role combines people leadership, operational governance and hands-on technical oversight across on-premises datacentres and cloud-hosted server workloads. It is accountable for service stability, lifecycle management, incident recovery, operational documentation and continuous improvement, while acting as the senior escalation point for complex systems issues.

Job Tasks:

People leadership and operating model
  • Lead, coach and develop the systems operations team, establishing clear objectives, role expectations, skills plans and succession coverage
  • Plan operational coverage, on-call arrangements and resource allocation across business-as-usual support, maintenance and project delivery
  • Promote a service-focused culture built on ownership, collaboration, documentation, automation and continuous improvement
  • Work closely with cloud, network, identity, security, service management, application and workplace technology teams to maintain clear ownership boundaries and effective hand-offs
Server and platform operations
  • Oversee the administration, monitoring and optimisation of Windows Server estates across physical, virtual and cloud environments
  • Own operational standards for compute, virtualisation, storage connectivity, clustering, high availability, certificate services, core infrastructure services and supporting management platforms
  • Ensure effective capacity, availability and performance management, including actionable monitoring, trend analysis and proactive remediation
  • Govern server provisioning, configuration, decommissioning and asset records, ensuring alignment between technical inventories, documentation and the configuration management database (CMDB)
  • Maintain accurate runbooks, support procedures, architecture records, dependency maps and operational knowledge articles
IT service management and resilience
  • Lead or support major incidents affecting server and platform services, coordinating technical recovery, stakeholder updates and post-incident reviews
  • Ensure robust Incident, Problem, Change and Request Management practices in line with the organisation’s ITSM framework
  • Own problem investigations and root-cause analysis for recurring or high-impact systems issues, tracking corrective actions through to verified closure
  • Define, maintain and test backup, restore and disaster recovery procedures; verify that recovery objectives are understood, achievable and evidenced through exercises
  • Coordinate planned maintenance and change activity to minimise business disruption and ensure rollback arrangements are practical and tested
Security, patching and compliance
  • Partner with Cyber Security to implement secure configuration baselines, privileged-access controls, vulnerability remediation and audit actions for server platforms
  • Govern operating-system and platform patching, monitoring compliance, managing exceptions and escalating unsupported or end-of-life technology risks
  • Ensure logging, monitoring, backup and administrative activities meet applicable internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Support security incidents and investigations by preserving system evidence, coordinating containment actions and restoring services safely
Projects, automation and suppliers
  • Plan and deliver server refreshes, platform upgrades, migrations, datacentre changes and cloud transformation initiatives within agreed scope, risk, cost and quality parameters
  • Drive standardisation and automation using appropriate scripting and infrastructure-as-code practices, reducing manual effort and configuration drift
  • Manage technical suppliers and managed-service partners, reviewing service quality, contractual performance, risks and remediation plans
  • Contribute to infrastructure roadmaps, investment cases, forecasts and licensing decisions, balancing resilience, security, user impact and cost
Technical scope
  • Windows Server administration, Active Directory integration and supporting infrastructure services such as DNS, DHCP, PKI and file services
  • Enterprise virtualisation and hyperconverged platforms, including VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V / Azure Stack HCI
  • Microsoft Azure server workloads and hybrid management capabilities, with awareness of governance, identity, networking and cost considerations
  • Enterprise backup and recovery platforms, replication, immutable or isolated recovery patterns, and disaster recovery orchestration
  • Monitoring, event management, log analytics, endpoint/server management, patch management and vulnerability-management tooling
  • PowerShell and other scripting or automation technologies; infrastructure-as-code experience such as Bicep or Terraform is advantageous
  • ITSM and CMDB platforms such as ServiceNow, including disciplined Incident, Problem, Change and Configuration Management practices
Requirements:

Essential
  • Substantial experience in enterprise IT infrastructure operations, including senior responsibility for server and compute platforms in a multi-site or multinational environment
  • Proven experience leading systems administrators or engineers, including workload planning, coaching and technical decision-making
  • Strong practical knowledge of Windows Server, virtualisation, backup and recovery, monitoring, patching, high availability and datacentre operations
  • Demonstrated leadership of critical incidents, structured root-cause analysis and risk-based change implementation
  • Experience governing technology lifecycles, supplier delivery and operational controls in an ITIL-aligned environment
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical risk and service impact for business stakeholders
  • English proficiency enabling effective work in an international environment
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing infrastructure operations supporting global and centrally managed ERP platforms, including availability, performance, capacity, resilience, disaster recovery, and incident management
Desirable
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Microsoft Azure Administrator, VMware VCP, ITIL 4 Foundation or recognised project-management credentials
  • Experience with ServiceNow ITSM/ITOM, Azure Arc, infrastructure automation, cloud cost optimisation and enterprise compliance or audit frameworks
  • Experience operating services with outsourced partners and geographically distributed teams

  • Mainly remote work
  • Private Medical Care
  • MultiSport Card
  • Life Insurance
  • Annual Bonus
  • Employee Social Benefits Fund (ZFŚS)
