Data Analyst

Role purpose
Create the data, evidence and reporting layer needed to test whether standards and SaC artefacts work in practice. This role prepares sample datasets, positive and negative test packs, conformance evidence, test results, adoption dashboards and operational reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare realistic synthetic sample data, metadata, API payloads, glossary terms, reference data and data product examples.
• Create positive and negative test packs to test compliance with standards and rules.
• Define and assemble conformance evidence, including screenshots, metadata, catalogue entries, validation outputs and exception records.
• Support conformance testing and record pass, fail, warning, exception and not applicable outcomes.
• Identify whether issues are caused by failed requirements, poor test data, ambiguous wording or missing evidence.
• Build adoption dashboards, conformance reports and operational reporting.
• Feed test results and adoption insights back into the refinement of rules, wording, examples and evidence requirements.

Requirements

• Strong data analysis and data quality mindset.
• Experience preparing datasets, test packs and evidence packs.
• Experience with JSON, Excel, SQL, Power BI, dashboards, data profiling and/or data quality reporting.
• Understanding of metadata, data products, API payloads and catalogue records.
• Ability to analyse test results and identify the root cause of issues.
• Strong stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain failures, gaps and missing evidence.
