The Localization Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution of localization programs, translation operations, and release readiness activities across the enterprise. This role coordinates the delivery of multilingual content and product localization initiatives by partnering with business stakeholders, engineering teams, regional reviewers, and localization vendors.
Responsibilities:
1. Localization Program & Delivery Management
• Manage the end-to-end execution of localization projects across products, websites, documentation, customer communications, legal content, and internal communications.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, and delivery commitments.
• Coordinate work across localization vendors, engineering teams, and business stakeholders.
• Support release planning, deployment readiness, repository onboarding, workflow validation, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Ensure deliverables are completed on time and meet established quality requirements.
2. Vendor & Operational Management
• Serve as the primary operational point of contact for localization vendors and translation operations.
• Manage project intake, prioritization, scheduling, workflow execution, and delivery tracking.
• Coordinate vendor delivery activities and track adherence to agreed project timelines, service levels, and quality targets.
• Coordinate stakeholder reviews, approvals, and project readiness activities.
3. Risk, Quality & Issue Management
• Maintain visibility into project risks, dependencies, defects, capability gaps, and operational issues.
• Coordinate resolution of translation workflow, tooling, and delivery challenges.
• Partner with Localization Quality Assurance (LQA), vendors, and reviewers to address quality concerns and support resolution activities.
• Escalate significant risks and issues to leadership as appropriate.
4. Stakeholder Communication & Reporting
• Provide regular status updates and delivery reporting to stakeholders.
• Facilitate project reviews and cross-functional coordination across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Legal, HR, and regional teams.
• Maintain project dashboards, status reporting, and delivery metrics.
• Identify delivery risks, recurring issues, and opportunities for operational efficiencies
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Localization, Linguistics, Communications, Project Management, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience managing localization, globalization, or multilingual content delivery programs.
• Experience working with Translation Management Systems (TMS) such as Trados, Smartling, or similar platforms.
• Experience managing localization vendors and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong project management, planning, scheduling, and risk management skills.
• Experience supporting software or digital content release cycles.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• PMP, Agile, Scrum, or equivalent project management certification.
• Experience supporting localization technology implementations and integrations.
• Familiarity with GitHub-based localization workflows and repository management.
• Experience coordinating UAT activities and release readiness processes.
• Knowledge of localization quality frameworks and linguistic review methodologies.
• Experience operating in a global, matrixed organization.
