QA Automation Engineer (M/K)

For our client we are looking for a candidate for the position of Test Automation Engineer.

In this role, you will:

• Develop and maintain automated test scenarios using Playwright for web applications and business processes
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitLab
• Validate integrations across systems, including API, UI, and backend layers
• Analyze logs and investigate application issues
• Collaborate closely with squad members to improve and maintain processes
• Prepare and update test strategies, test plans, and quality reports
• Enhance and extend existing test automation frameworks
• Support UI and end-to-end regression testing activities
• Ensure adequate test coverage across critical user workflows
• Drive continuous improvements in testing methodologies and quality standards

Experience:

• Practical experience in test automation, ideally with Playwright and API testing
• Strong Java programming skills and experience with testing frameworks such as JUnit or TestNG
• Experience working with CI/CD environments and GitLab
• Knowledge of Git and test management tools such as Jira, Xray, or similar
• Hands-on experience with REST API testing using tools like RestAssured or Postman
• Database querying and analysis skills
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted tools in test development
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
• Strong analytical thinking and a quality-focused approach
• Professional proficiency in English (German would be an advantage)

Nice to Have:

• Experience with RPA platforms such as Blue Prism or Camunda
• Familiarity with ERP solutions
• Basic Python knowledge
• Understanding of integration testing and end-to-end testing concepts
• Process-oriented mindset with the ability to understand complex systems beyond the UI layer
