Core Skills

• Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD): Deep understanding of AVD architecture, including host pools, session hosts, and user profile management using FSLogix
• Azure Active Directory (AAD): Integration with AVD and broader identity management capabilities
• Azure IAM and RBAC: Managing access and permissions securely
• Networking & Storage: Familiarity with Azure networking basics, DNS, firewalls, and Azure Fileshares and blobs
• PowerShell Scripting: For automation and configuration tasks
• OS Imaging & Customization: Proficient in Windows OS image creation and updates
• Application Delivery: Experience with MSIX packaging and AppAttach for application deployment

Specialized Knowledge

• Security & Monitoring: Knowledge of securing AVD environments and using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics for performance tracking
• Microsoft 365 Ecosystem: Understanding of Office 365, SharePoint, and related services
• Citrix & VMware: Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps/Desktops or VMware Horizon is often a plus

Soft Skills & Methodologies

• Problem Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities
• Agile & ITIL: Familiarity with Agile methodologies and ITIL processes like incident and change management
• Communication: Ability to translate technical concepts for stakeholders and collaborate across teams
• Project management methodology - Mix SCRUM/Waterfall

Certifications (Preferred)

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty
• Citrix Certified Associate – Virtualization (CCA-V)
• VMware Certified Professional – Desktop and Mobility (VCP-DT)
